Dear friends,
This year AMATERAS International Competition for paper Art celebrates jubilee edition. The project started in 2009 with the aim of presenting a lesser-known tendency in the contemporary art – Paper Art. During its existence the exhibition has hosted more than 800 artist from 42 countries as 96 artists has been awarded and represented in travelling expositions in 10 countries. These exhibitions usually include small-scale works but the great interest which was provoked gave a start to SOFIA PAPER ART FEST in 2011 – a festival that twice received the EFFE Label for innovation facilitated by the European Festivals Association.
The competition remains a crucial section of the festival and preserves its distinguished concept. The jubilee edition differs in an enlargement of the works which are made by 67 artists from 25 countries. This increase corresponds to the monumental imprint and scale of The National Palace of Culture. The exhibition is a colorful mosaic of ideas, techniques, concepts, experiments, achievements and avant-garde solutions that form the competition as a genuine parade of paper. During the years SOFIA PAPER ART FEST has strengthened the position of the annual contest as preferable to other similar events. In this year’s edition artists who have been exposed in well-known world museums in Germany, Italy, UK, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, China, USA, Argentina will be presented.
I have the exceptional chance to be among the selected artists again and to present my work “Collective Unconscious”. I’ll be glad to meet you at the exhibition!
The opening will take place on 12. 04. 2018 (Thursday) at 18:00 h., at the National Palace of Culture – Mezzanine floor 'West' and Marble lobby, entrance А4. Sofia 1000, 1 Bulgaria Square.
